Download the latest upgrade for your product:
Your FORTIS™ heater comes standard with a USB interface (like a standard USB port on your computer) that allows you to interface with the heater’s computer controller. In addition to providing a means to transmit troubleshooting logs for service related issues, you can also upgrade your heater’s firmware (operating code) in order to ensure that your FORTIS™ heater has the latest safety and efficiency upgrades.
All registered owners of FORTIS™ heaters will receive automatic email notification of firmware upgrades when available. If you have not registered your FORTIS™ heater yet please click here to register your Fortis™ heater so that Skye can ensure you are covered by our industry leading warranty; and so that you can be notified when any important firmware upgrades become available.
The process of upgrading the firmware is not unlike saving files from your own computer, please follow these simple steps:
Save the 'Fortis.esb' file to the root of a USB Flash drive. Please be sure that the drive's file system is FAT/FAT16/FAT32. This can be verified by right clicking on the drive letter, in Windows Explorer or the Save As window, and selecting 'Properties'.
Release/remove the drive from the PC.
Insert the Flash drive into the USB connector on the bottom of your unit.
A screen labeled USB DRIVE DETECTED will be displayed. Press the down arrow to highlight LOAD FIRMWARE and then press OK.
The transfer takes approximately ten (10) seconds. The unit will beep and display DRIVE RELEASED - RESETTING IN 3 SEC after the file has been copied.
The Flash drive can be removed any time after the screen goes blank. If the drive is left in, you will see the USB DRIVE DETECTED screen again after the unit has initialized. Simply press OK and remove the drive.
Depending upon the date code of the current firmware, there may be a long initialization delay, during which time the unit will beep once per second for twelve (12) seconds. This will only occur this one time.
Your unit is now operating with the latest firmware release.
You can identify the current firmware revision by scrolling to the screen labeled CONTROLLER VERSIONS.
